Oldtown Portage

$15.00

Just beyond Alyeska, on the Seward Hwy lies the remnants of Portage Alaska. Once a whistle stop on the railroad, Portage consisted of a gas station, a few odd buildings and a sign that read, "Welcome to Portage, Alaska -11 Friendly People, 1 Old Sorehead". The '64 Quake caused the land to sink enough that the town was abandoned. The tips of the buildings remain barely visible today.
